How can you tell if the cantaloupe you are holding in your palm is really ripe? Here are a few ways you can tell.

1. Smell it.

It should smell sweet and also a little musky.

2. Feel it.

It should seem heavier than it looks. There should be some raised netting. And you should be able to push in the skin a little bit with your thumb.
